A friend of mine just sent me this link, apparently someone got a cloned Stg44 (Ptr44 I guess?) and made it CA-legal, then took it to Camp Roberts last weekend for the RPS event.

Here's some pics:

The featureless grip is the most obvious modification, but I wonder how that would fly..

Here's the manufacturer's site, should anyone be curious:

http://www.ptr91.com/ptr44.html

It'll be interesting to see, if we come up against any of these.

Does it have a bullet button too, would be a pain in the butt for reenactments, looks hard to shoot with the featureless grip.

If theres a will, theres a way!

Thanks for the share.

The grip is what makes it CA legal....its called a monster grip, its what allows the owner to have a detachable mag, (don't need a bullet button) I "have" one on my new Rock River Tactical Entry AR...still can't have hi-cap mags tho... ;) ha.

It basically doesn't allow the shooter to have apt control over the weapon, forcing the shooter to hold it like a rifle, and the ergonomics suck ass. With a pistol grip it is so much better.

Yeah I figured you would not need a bullet button, but wasn't sure.
